In 2000, local government bodies required a baseline assessment of this urban coastal stream by local government bodies.
The work was completed from head of stream to mouth at sea using 3 methodologies which could also be used by community groups: a photo essay, the well known Macroinvertebrate Community Index (MCI) & the newly designed Urban Stream Health Assessment (USHA)
In addition to baseline information, a comparision was made of the methodologies and results.
