Who really wants to mow a lawn? But do vegetables stand a chance, even with full sun, on a turf of kikuyu grass?

The first step, during winter 2003, was to put the kikuyu grass to sleep under old woollen carpets and felt underlays. In spring, compost and mulches from the local recycle centre were spread over the top.
